My first book, Planning Labour: Time and the Foundations of Industrial Socialism in Romania, investigates three entangled issues related to socialist accumulation and central planning as its technical instrument: controlling workers, producing knowledge on the shop floor, and managing the conflicting temporal horizons of socialist planning both in ideological terms and as they unfolded on the ground.
